Configurations are available for all digger sizes, and custom variations can be provided as required. TrenchMate Shields can be either purchased outright, or hired. Each trench shield comes supplied with a ladder and an individual Producer Statement. All shields are certified for their designed use

The dimensions of the TrenchMate Shield trench shield can be extended by means of built-in adjustable steel struts.
Alloy TrenchMate Shields can be taken to a site on a light tandem trailer and lifted around with an 8 tonne digger - ideal for that burst water main repair or small diameter sewer line.

The dimensions of the TrenchMate Shield trench shield can be extended by means of built-in adjustable steel struts. Custom struts are available for widths over 1.9m (1900 mm).

Porter Engineering would like to see trenching and shoring accidents completely eliminated from the workplace in New Zealand. We are sure that widespread and consistent usage of TrenchMate Shield trenching/shoring shields will minimise, if not totally eliminate, all trenching and shoring accidents.
Why use TrenchMate Shield trench shields? The TrenchMate Shield has a design feature which allows some individual vertical movement in each shield panel. This gives them a distinct advantage over other trench shields in terms of manuverability and safety.
If a TrenchMate Shield becomes stuck and cannot be towed forward, then each side can be individually raised, a little at a time, enabling safe and economic extraction.
TrenchMate Shield trench shields were developed exclusively by Porter Engineering. They come in two versions: high-tensile alloy (for use with smaller diggers) and versatile steel (for heavier and deeper work).
